Another opportunity to equal the all-time Grand Slam record having a victory against Elina Svitolina to go back to the US Open final was setup by serena Williams.
The 37-year-old American conquered the Ukrainian seed 6-3 6-1 on the Arthur Ashe Stadium to reach her fourth major final.

The six-time champion at Flushing Meadows will face adolescent Bianca Andreescu at the final on Saturday.

„To maintain yet another closing, it seems honestly crazy,“ said Williams. „But I do not expect a lot less.
„I believe it was sound. It wasn’t my very best tennis. [Svitolina] probably could have played as well. I certainly know I might have played better.“

„The first games were games that are long,“ said Williams. „I understand how she can perform, she’s such a great player.
„I simply wanted to not get off to a slow start and simply tried to hang in there.
„This really is the biggest arena for tennis on the entire planet. It’s such an honor for me and my opponent to play 20, if you consider it that way. I like the chance to find out here and do my very best.“
The next semi-final was a compelling encounter as Andreescu became the most singles participant to achieve a US Open final.
Andreescu saved all six break points she faced into a opening set before winning it.
Bencic, who attained the quarter-finals at 2014 as a 17-year-old, responded to deliver a double break edge in the second group.
However there breaking rallied to win the last five games of the match, a battling Andreescu Bencic to the third time in the second group to procure a victory on her third match point.
„If somebody told me a year ago I would be in the last this season that I [would] have said you were mad,“ said Andreescu, who has not lost a finished match since March and has since climbed from 152 in the rankings at the beginning of the year to 15th.
„It is just surreal. It is a dream come true playing against Serena in the final of the US Open. It’s crazy.“
